Metal Braces
The most well-known choice for orthodontic treatment is metal braces!
Traditional metal braces consist of high-grade stainless steel brackets and an archwire that is secured by ligature elastics.
Metal braces are highly effective and are appropriate for patients of varying ages.
With metal braces, you also get the option of adding colored elastics to make your smile transformation unique and fun!
Life With Braces
When you have metal braces, you will have to modify your diet to avoid damaging them. That means it’s best to stay away from crunchy, sticky, hard, or overly chewy foods until after you’ve had your braces removed. Otherwise, you risk foods becoming trapped between your teeth and gumline or sticking to brackets.
Keep your braces and teeth underneath clean by gently brushing at least 2-3 times a day with a soft-bristled toothbrush. If you’re able to brush your teeth after a meal, that’s even better, as you can clear out debris and leftover food particles. Remember to also floss in between teeth.
