Ready for Braces
We understand that getting your braces put on can seem intimidating, but you have nothing to fear, this appointment is pretty straightforward! We will start by cleaning your teeth with our special toothpaste to make sure the braces will stay on your teeth.
After we clean your teeth, we will prepare your teeth with our special bonding glue. The brackets are then placed on your teeth and are expertly positioned to give you the best result and shine a special light to allow the glue to set! Once all the brackets are set the only thing left is to place the wires and for you to pick your colors! Our team will go over care instructions and will even give you a brushing kit to help keep your teeth clean!
Will My Teeth Hurt After Braces Are Placed?
Some discomfort is expected after your braces are put on. This is normal and will dissipate over the next week or so. Our orthodontists recommend using over-the-counter pain relievers as needed or eating softer foods until you are more used to how the braces feel. For the most part, the discomfort indicates that the braces are doing their job and working to gradually move your teeth into position! If pain persists beyond the normal adjustment period, please contact our office. We would be more than happy to take a look and make adjustments if necessary.
